All right, filters were a lot of fun to play with and it's amazing the effects you can obtain when applying them. The first photo is of a sail boat on the lake, I used the zoom at full length to capture this and the photo came out with a lot of noise.

The second photo was taken on Church Street, on one of the days the water fountain was actually working. I applied two filters to this image and those are Cutout and Poster Edge, both found under the Artistic group. I think the final photo looks a little cartoonish, or like it was hand-colored, but the effect is great.

Wow these are great Alina! I like how you altered the water in the fountain picture and the picture of the sailboat. I like all the different avenues that are available via photoshop, even though photos are individualistic, I think that the artistic changes that can be made to them, makes it more so a true expression of that. :)
Wow, somehow I missed the Extrude filter - it's a neat one. I took the picture of my cat with the Angled Strokes filter and added Extrude on top of it. Great use with the sailboat and your icicles look cool too.
both of these are so great. I would really like to see the originals. The water fountain looks like its coming out out of the wall and yes maybe cartoonish as you say, but fabulous.
these are awesome - i especially love the effect on the fountain
i had so much fun with filters :-)
Oh how I miss Burlington. I used to work for the bank on the corner of Bank St and St Paul, a couple of decades ago. I think that you must need the calming effects of the blue and water you are choosing ;o) The filter use is wonderful. This class should get together and get a line of Vermont cards together and set up a website.
Alina,
When I first glanced at the water fountain it looked like it was liquid metal or even mercury, but as I really looked it I could see how you said it looks cartoonish, but not in a bad way. The sailboat photo looks really good too, sort like an abstract painting. It's funny but I also choose two water photos too, and though it was hard to see on the blog, I mad them both look liking paintings, but with different textures. I like how filters can make the photo look completely like something other than a photograph.
