When driving home one evening I looked up to the sunset and realized what I was missing. I pulled over right away and started taking pictures (luckily I had the camera with me). It was a matter of minutes before it was dark, but I was able to capture some great shots. Once I got home I realized that most of my shots had been blurred, fortunately I also had a few good ones. I like this one because of the colors and the shape of the lighting post. Not sure if these are analogous colors, but they make an interesting picture.
On Saturday I left my house in search for colors to capture for this week's assignment. Turns out I did not have to go too far. I made it to my parking lot and noticed a very colorful tree (half reddish, half greenish) and started taking pictures of its leaves. Actually this is after being sidetracked with taking shots of these beautiful butterflies who were just calmly moving from one flower to the next in a nearby patch of green. Back to the leaves...this is one of my favorites, I love the similar yet soo different hues of red and yellow (well more copper than yellow).
Ok, this last one was taken on Saturday as well while out grocery shopping. These mums were placed in front of the grocery store (they were all over) and I loved the vibrant colors. Conveniently enough this pair of mums were perfectly placed for capturing analogous colors. I have taken a few more photos of different color schemes, but I will post those on Flickr for everyone to see.http://www.flickr.com/photos/alinar/

Your shots are wonderful! I love the sunset.
Isn't autumn a wonderful time of year for color. When this project first began, I was thinking of how unfortunate it was to begin a photography class with flowers fading and days getting shorter, but now I'm reminded that many colors have only just begun.
In your last picture, it would have been great to get the yellow flowers with the purple wall behind them - then it would have been complimentary. I suppose it could be anyway, but the line where the two colors meet makes a wonderful vibration.
Great sunset picture; I like how the pole divides the picture.
That first shot is really great. It has a real soothing quality for me,..very serene. I agree with the shape of the silloette being really interesting, nice work!
Autumn is my favorite time of year! I grew up in New England, so it is nothing new, but I am always always amazed at the colors on the leaves - so I especially like your second photo. :-)
Wow, these colors are absolutely breathtaking. I love the first one of the sky and telephone pole, it is such an amazing display!
The sky with the telephone pole is great it. I like the flowers to. Autumn is my favorite time of year.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I just love homework for this class and the plentitude of subjects/colors that you can find right about now is amazing. :)
Alina,
Nice photos. The first shot I would think is monochrome, since it really just has hues of pink, with black being the darkest of hues for any color (?). Which is something I have been meaning to ask Karen. on the discussion board, about where does black/white, red,orange,yellow/black fit into these color "schemes"?
Wow, the color and quality of your picture of the leaves is amazing! I am now ashamed of the pictue of fall leaves that I took!! Yours are so much more realistic and you have way better lightenig then I used in my. Fall is my favorite time of year, it is really picture perfect dont you think? Awesome work!

I love that first photo. The beautiful sky with the stark pole. It's just fun to look at. Great job!
Lisa,
I was wondering the same thing - on the slideshow, there were several pictures that included black, white and even gray. Interesting
That's an interesting question on color schemes - including black with other colors. In my sunset photo I think of the pole as the darkest shade of red/pink colors.
Alina: You have an incredible eye for color as expressed in these photos. These are great examples of analogous and complementary colors!
