These pictures are among my favorites for this week's assignment. Of course they were all taken using the macro setting. The first one is part of a sculpture and what caught my eye is the expression that the man has which I believe is accentuated by the bluish color of the sculpture.
The third one was taken at the Civil War event as well and it is a child's toy from that era. I liked how the colors came out. Even though the paint is faded and peeling the color is still strong.

Hi there,
I really like the first shot,
how imposing,..the comp. is so right!! ... the second, did you say was from a book? How cool,... and I agree, power full, really nice work on all your stuff, Diana
The first picture is intense, the oxidization of the copper adds to the intensity of the face, making the look of anguish more so, taking it as just a head shot really adds to the importance of the emotion of the statue. Great capture! The color is great with the red and the neutrals of nature in the background on the rockinghorse shot is well done. Did you use a program to edit the color or filters? If not, you might be able to make the rockinghorse pop out even more. (like the book with a bullet hole, maybe the owner had it in a pocket and it saved their life... if not could make for a great story ;0)
Hi Rachelle, I too was amazed at the powerful expression on the sculpture.
I didn't make any adjustments to these pictures. I later went back and played with the brightness/saturation/colors in Picasa and they came out even better.

Good job on these. Yes that statute is the perfect color for such a face as it has! Nice shot. The photos from the civil war event too are stunning. The one of the book is intense as the hole caused by the bullet draws in our eyes. The rocking horse is also intense in its starkness and and yet there's that bright red color that almost jumps out at me!
