For this week's assignment I choose to photograph a piece of artwork that I have in my house. I was a little difficult due to the angles at which I took the pictures, but they came out all right. In this first picture I was looking to get the closest circles in focus, but it came out the other way. I am still happy with the result.
The second picture is a detail of the artwork. I used the flash in this picture as opposed to the first one where the natural light was in advantage. What I like about this picture is
how clear the details in the metal are, as well
as the contrast, it almost looks like black and white.

Alina,
The first pic is great on the setup where it makes your eye travel along as if one is going down a road - it is like a pathway. The second up close pic shows the detail of the circle (almost looks like mother of pearl). Where one give the eye the want to travel, the other gives it a fixed gaze. Good job. I wonder how this would be in black and white?

Alina,
I love these photos. When I first looked at them especially the top photo, I was intrigued as to what "they" were exactly then I realized that it was some sort of artwork. The photos of the artwork really draw me in. I see different things within the artwork, for instance, the bottom photo it looks like a person leaning over something and it also looks like a flower growing but towards the sun. My flowers on my deck will follow the sun across the sky so in the a.m they are facing east but days end they are facing west. It is kind of neat to see.

Yes I love the details on the metal too...is that made of shell? The detail of that part is intriguing...
Also note how much detail we take in when we DO NOT KNOW what we are looking at.
